“The design was based off a classic barn structure,” says Charlie. “Simple lines, but bold.” When he began his search for exterior lighting, he asked a friend, a timber framer in Massachusetts, for suggestions.

“The owners love to travel to Sonoma County, and we wanted to evoke the feeling and style we saw in their vacation pictures,” Pete explains. “A wood-burning fireplace and outdoor cooking area were requirements as was dining and seating space for entertaining on a regular basis.” Pete helped the homeowners select the Starfire Radial Wave Reflector Gooseneck Light in Barn Red to highlight the grill area.

“We moved in the first week of October. Our house made out fine, thankfully, but we were without power for a week,” Jennifer says. “We were worried about flooding since we live on a marsh that looks out to the Sound, but the storm hit at low tide which saved us.” Their new home is a shingle style and the design is casual coastal — perfect for the couple, their three kids, and two Jack Russells.
